Bio
Kathryn Rodrigues was born in Ft. Benning, Georgia to a military family and within weeks was on the move to her family's next destination. Her family moved to 10 different locations within the next 13 years, including Brazil, Mozambique, Portugal and Germany, before finally settling in Urbana, IL. Kathryn received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from the University of Illinois and a Master of Science in Art Education from the Massachusetts College of Art. Kathryn has exhibited at the Copley Society, Massachusetts College of Art, Marwen, The Splat Flats, Woman Made Gallery and the Chicago Cultural Center. Kathryn has taught visual art courses for children and adults at Brookline High School, Massachusetts College of Art, the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, Marwen and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago. She is currently a teaching artist and the Manager of Marwen Lab at a non-profit visual art education and youth development organization called Marwen in Chicago.

Cheryl’s Dreaming Big/NAMI partnership
Created and taught 6 week photography curriculum for adults living with mental illness. Workshop was held at the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill center in Oak Park. The focus of the curriculum was exploring identity through photography.
